Vayru

For travel creators

Your public videos, found at the places they're about.

You film the café, the beach path, the warung worth the walk. Months later a traveller is standing nearby wondering where to go. Vayru shows them that a creator was there, and takes them to that moment in your video, on YouTube, with your name on it.

This page explains plainly what Vayru does with public creator videos, and what it doesn't.

How Vayru uses your content

What Vayru does

  • Plays your video through YouTube. A moment plays in YouTube's own embedded player, or opens your video on YouTube, from the second that matters.
  • Keeps your channel credited. Every moment shows your channel name and links to the original video.
  • Sends viewers to the original. “Open in YouTube” is always one tap away.
  • Adds a discovery layer around your video: the real place, the timestamp where it appears (a moment), the map, the kind of place, and the local words you use.

What Vayru doesn't do

  • It doesn't claim ownership of your video. It remains your content, on your channel.
  • It doesn't present your video as Vayru-created content. Your video is always shown as yours.
  • It doesn't re-host or redistribute your video. Viewers watch it on YouTube, from your channel.
  • It doesn't re-edit your video into clips or put it behind a Vayru paywall.
  • It doesn't claim you endorse, sponsor or partner with Vayru. Creators appear in Vayru because they published public travel videos, not because of any arrangement.

To find the places in a public video, Vayru looks at what's said and shown in it. What Vayru keeps is the result: which places appear, and at which seconds. It doesn't keep a copy of the video to show anyone.

From Vayru to your channel

Every moment leads back to the original.

The same for every creator

Vayru works the same way with every public travel video, from any creator. A few more moments as they appear in Vayru:

Public videos only

Vayru only uses videos that are publicly available on YouTube. Private, members-only and paywalled creator videos are outside Vayru's public-content policy, and Vayru doesn't use them.

  • Public videos only
  • No private videos
  • No members-only videos
  • No paywalled content

Why it can help your channel

New and older videos

Useful moments from this week's video and from ones you published years ago can be rediscovered, when a traveller is actually looking at that place.

The right moment

Travellers don't skim a 30-minute video hoping to find the part they need. Vayru takes them straight to the second where the place comes up.

Back to you

Every moment is credited to you and leads to your original video, on your channel.

Your words travel too

When you teach a phrase on camera, travellers can find it in Words & phrases and replay you saying it.

Questions creators ask

Does Vayru show my video as its own?

No. Your video plays through YouTube with your channel name and title, and every moment links to the original on YouTube.

Which of my videos can appear in Vayru?

Only videos that are public on YouTube. Never private, members-only or paywalled content.

What if Vayru has put a moment at the wrong place?

Tell us at hello@vayru.app and we'll correct it. Accurate places matter to travellers as much as to you.

Can I ask for my channel to be removed from Vayru?

Yes. Email hello@vayru.app and we'll take your channel's moments out of Vayru.

Does appearing in Vayru mean I'm partnered with Vayru?

No. Creators appear because they published public travel videos. Vayru doesn't claim any endorsement, sponsorship or partnership unless one actually exists and the creator has agreed to say so.

Can travellers choose which creators they see?

Yes. In Vayru's settings, travellers can switch individual creators on or off. All are on by default.

Creators remain independent

Featuring a creator's public video in Vayru doesn't imply sponsorship, partnership or endorsement, in either direction. The creators shown on this website, including Sanur Diaries, are independent of Vayru.
